Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conference Date Change

With the Class A Regional HS Basketball Tournament being moved up a week, we need to move the Thursday, February 19, Parent-Teacher Conference date to Monday, February 23. This will allow parents and staff to attend the Regional Basketball Tournament at Okay on the 19th.

The first night of Parent-Teacher Conferences will remain the same, Monday, February 16.

There will be no school on Friday, February 20.

The Class A District/Regional/Area 2 Basketball Schedule
Quapaw will travel to Afton for the District Basketball Tournament. Quapaw will play on Saturday, February 14. Girls: 6:00 p.m. Boys: 7:30 p.m. against Afton.

NEO Science Fair

Quapaw FFA Students Shine at 66th Annual NEO Regional Science Fair
Quapaw FFA students delivered an outstanding performance at the 66th Annual NEO Regional Science Fair, earning multiple top placements, special awards, and qualifying every competitor for the state competition on March 27th.

In the middle school division, Parker Manning earned third place in Animal Science. In Botany, Abagail Duncan and Kloe Frost captured second-place honors.

High school students brought home an impressive list of first-place finishes. Slade Dixon earned first place in Animal Science, while Jeanette Sherwood placed first in Botany. Brooklyn Brock took first place in Engineering. Shasta Doke and Logan Eby earned first place in Mathematics. In Medicine and Health, Remington Sala placed first, and Kay’Lee Orender earned second. Caytie Couch earned first place in Microbiology.

Quapaw students also excelled in special award categories. Brooklyn Brock received awards from the Association for Women in Geoscientists and NASA Earth System Science. Shasta Doke and Logan Eby earned recognition from the U.S. Metric Association. The United States Air Force Award was presented to Brooklyn Brock, Caytie Couch, and Remington Sala. The Most Creative Project award went to Shasta Doke and Logan Eby.

Additional honors included Best Biological Project for Caytie Couch, Best Physical Project for Brooklyn Brock, and Best Overall Project, also awarded to Brooklyn Brock. This marks the second consecutive year Quapaw students have earned these top distinctions.

The highlight of the evening came as Slade Dixon, Jeanette Sherwood, Brooklyn Brock, Caytie Couch, Shasta Doke, Logan Eby, Kay’Lee Orender, Remington Sala, Kloe Frost, Abagail Duncan, and Parker Manning all qualified for the State Science Fair. Every Quapaw student who competed advanced, making it a perfect day for the program.

OBU Honor Band

Three Quapaw high school band members were selected to participate in this year's Oklahoma Baptist University Honor Band experience. They have been working for the last two days to put together a concert with difficult, new repertoire, some of which is being taught to them by the composer who wrote them. The students representing Quapaw at this event this year are Gregory McGirt, Katelynn Boman, and Roxy Foran. Gregory secured 6th chair alto saxophone, Roxy secured 7th chair alto saxophone, and Katelynn recieved 3rd chair clarinet (in a section of 27). This is Katelynn's second year to be chosen for this honor band.
