Head Football Coach
Quapaw High School Position: Head Football Coach Teaching Position to be determined January 15, 2021
Description: The Head Football Coach will be directly responsible for football development at all levels (varsity, junior varsity, and middle school) and for carrying out a plan that creates and sustains the progressive development and success of the overall football program. Responsibilities: · Serve as the program director of the school’s varsity football program, including the junior varsity, and middle school program. · Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the football program. · Manage and supervise football activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. · Work with the Administration to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes. · Ensure that all football coaches work together toward a common goal within the football program. · Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate individual student athlete performance on a regular basis · Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities. · Plan, organize and execute off-season, summer, and pre-season training programs for all levels. · Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation. · Work with the Administration to schedule competitions and coordinate travel arrangements. · Develop and coordinate a continuing self-evaluation of the football program, staff and make changes based on findings and the ongoing needs of the program. · Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests and practice sessions. · Encourage sportsman-like conduct in all phases of athletic participation. · Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, administrators, and teachers. · Maintain a current inventory of all fixed equipment and uniforms within the program. Qualifications: · Must demonstrate initiative, organizational skills, and strong leadership skills in the performance of his duties. · Must have strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and be able to establish good relationships with players, families, and the community. · Must be a positive role model and able to show self-restraint in speech and conduct, both on and off the field. · Experience as an assistant or head football coach.
