Position: Head Football Coach

Teaching Position to be determined

January 15, 2021



The Head Football Coach will be directly responsible for football development at all levels (varsity, junior varsity, and middle school) and for carrying out a plan that creates and sustains the progressive development and success of the overall football program. 


·       Serve as the program director of the school’s varsity football program, including the junior varsity, and middle school program.

·       Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the football program.

·       Manage and supervise football activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.

·       Work with the Administration to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.

·       Ensure that all football coaches work together toward a common goal within the football program.

·       Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate individual student athlete performance on a regular basis

·       Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.

·       Plan, organize and execute off-season, summer, and pre-season training programs for all levels.

·       Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.

·       Work with the Administration to schedule competitions and coordinate travel arrangements.

·       Develop and coordinate a continuing self-evaluation of the football program, staff and make changes based on findings and the ongoing needs of the program.

·       Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests and practice sessions. 

·       Encourage sportsman-like conduct in all phases of athletic participation.

·       Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, administrators, and teachers.

·       Maintain a current inventory of all fixed equipment and uniforms within the program.


·       Must demonstrate initiative, organizational skills, and strong leadership skills in the performance of his duties.

·       Must have strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and be able to establish good relationships with players, families, and the community.

·       Must be a positive role model and able to show self-restraint in speech and conduct, both on and off the field.

·       Experience as an assistant or head football coach.
